An experimental greenhouse was established on the territory of the GSU named after F. Skorina, in the courtyard of the educational building No. 1, created as part of an innovative project of the Faculty of Physics and Information Technology and the Faculty of Biology. As a result of close interdisciplinary interaction, a technological process for growing crops in full automation was developed. The new educational module is based on the project of Alexei Zaitsev “Mobius farm”, which allows you to manage a small greenhouse and farm using the “Internet of things”. Aleksey Andreevich - graduate student of GSU, silver medalist of the V international contest "Internet +".  “At the moment, the greenhouse is undergoing test preparation for commissioning. The installation of electrical equipment was completed, a server and a weather station were installed, ”said the developer. The weather station’s capabilities include the determination of humidity and air temperature both on the street and in the greenhouse, the determination of atmospheric pressure, the level of illumination and the rain sensor.

Student research laboratory “Forests of Belarus” takes a direct part in the adjustment of equipment and the growing process. As an experiment, participants in student research laboratories placed in the greenhouse substrate blocks sprouted with mycelium of mushrooms "Oyster mushroom", "Oyster mushroom California", "Tinder fungus" and "Hericium", led by associate professor of the department of forestry disciplines, candidate of agricultural sciences Vyacheslav Trukhonovets. “We have a small collection of cultivated mushrooms, many of which have a healing effect. As part of the project, for the first time we will try to grow them in a greenhouse, ”said Vyacheslav.

The scientist noted that working in a "smart" greenhouse will be an excellent practice when students learn the course "Non-timber forest products with the basics of mushroom growing." They will be able to see firsthand how the process of growing mushrooms occurs using computer technology. “Now the microclimate is being monitored at the facility. In the future, a system with automated climate control will be created here. Perhaps the technology will become popular not only in farms and homesteads, but also in the field of agroecotourism, ”said the dean of the Faculty of Biology, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Viktor Averin. Among the existing capabilities of the greenhouse - lighting control (daylight and phytolamps), turning on irrigation, ventilation and air heating. It is planned to equip it with video surveillance soon. Thus, it will be possible to control indicators from the monitor screen.
