On June 30, 2020, a republican seminar was held online within the framework of the international project UniLab "From university to the labor market in the 21st century: a step to learning in real production conditions" (under the auspices of the ERASMUS + program of the European Commission). The event was attended by teachers and employees of the educational institution "Gomel State University named after F. Skorina ”, educational institutions“ Mogilev State University named after A. Kuleshov ”, representatives of other educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus, the governing body of state educational authorities, social service institutions, health care institutions, institutions representing the industrial and financial sectors, the banking sector, and justice. The results of the national questionnaire survey, which covered employers on the organization of students' practical training, were presented during the seminar.
The participants of the event discussed the competencies that need to be formed among graduates and young specialists for successful professional activity in the 21st century, taking into account the current economic situation, problematic issues of student practice and employment of young specialists. Based on the results of the seminar, the experts proposed mechanisms for improving internship programs for students, developing the competencies of students and graduates in accordance with the demand of the modern labor market. As part of the webinar, working members of the national working group of the project discussed further steps for its implementation. The UniLab project was launched in January 2020. The project is being implemented by a consortium of universities in Spain, Austria, France, Russia, Azerbaijan and Belarus.
