Lectures by a famous russian scientist at the Faculty of Philology

As part of the cultural, educational and scientific program of events "Slavic Meetings", a round table meeting on the topic "Current problems of linguoculturology" was held at the Faculty of Philology of the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University on November 30, 2021. Russian teachers, postgraduates, undergraduates and students of the Faculty of Philology were addressed by Vladimir Karasik, a well-known specialist in the field of axiological linguistics, linguoculturology and discourse theory, Doctor of Philology, Professor of the Department of General and Russian Linguistics of the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute.Russian Department, General and Slavic Linguistics Department has been cooperating with colleagues of the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute for a long time and, in accordance with collective plans and preliminary agreements, invited a professor of the capital university to give lectures.

Vladimir Karasik is a well-known Russian scientist, the author of more than 360 scientific papers with a high citation index. V.I. Karasik's scientific activity is harmoniously combined with versatile pedagogical work. Many universities invite V. I. Karasik to give lectures, and he never refuses.

The scientist appreciates the opportunity to attract the attention of students, undergraduates and postgraduates to those areas of scientific knowledge that he considers priority in humanitarian education. And this time Vladimir Karasik demonstrated to all the participants of the Round Table an example of high lecturing skills. The subject of discussion was the most important concepts of linguoculturology, however, the lecturer did not address complex terms, on the contrary, in a very perceptible form, with a large number of vivid examples, he told about what scientific knowledge directly related to the linguistic culture of the people is important in the life of every person.
