Moscow City Pedagogical University organized an online lecture by Professor Karen Hewitt of Oxford University within the framework of international cooperation with the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University. The lecture was attended by teachers of the Faculty of Foreign Languages.
 Karen Hewitt is the chief coordinator of academic exchanges at the Institute of Slavic Studies at Oxford University, a lecturer in English literature at Kellogg College. She is the author of a large number of works on the development of English and Russian literature.

From October 20-to October 21 Faculty of Physical Culture of F. Skorina Gomel State University co-organized the IV All-Russian scientific and practical conference with international participation "Medical and physiological foundations of sports activity in the North" (Syktyvkar, Komi Republic).

From October 15 to 16, the Judo Championship of the Republic of Belarus was held on the basis of the sports complex "Staiki". 140 athletes from all regions of the country and the city of Minsk took part in the tournament.

It is impossible not to take into account the high role of linguistics in human life. Linguistics helps us to express our thoughts correctly both orally and in writing. Having high knowledge in the field of language, people show their literacy and can translate texts. Any person who aspires to climb the career ladder should have not only narrow-profile knowledge, but also a fairly strong knowledge of linguistics.

From October 15 to 17, the final Greco-Roman wrestling competitions within the framework of the Republican Universiade 2021 were held in Grodno. Wrestlers from 21 universities of the country took part in the competitions. According to the results of the competition, the national team of our university took the third team place, give way to wrestlers from the Y.Kupala Grodno State University and the Belarusian State University of Physical Training.

The current state of methodological science is significant changes under the influence of various factors, including the epidemiological situation caused by the spread of the COVID-19 virus. This factor affected the methodology of teaching foreign languages. In the shortest possible time, it was possible to systematize the previously accumulated experience in this field and combine it with new methods and techniques so that the learning process became as effective as possible. The quality of assimilation of the acquired knowledge only increased.

The first scientific and technical fair of young talents Yuqi Jinqiu was held in Usi city. The large-scale event brought together experts and scientists from major research institutes. Among the invited guests is Aleksandr Rogachev, Director of the Scientific Research Institute of Physics and Chemistry of the Educational Institution "Francisk Skorina Gomel State University", corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor, Honorary Citizen of the city of Usi.

On September 28, the First International Scientific and Practical Conference "Prospects for tourism development in modern conditions: global trends and regional contexts" was held. The event was organized by the Department of Tourism of the Ministry of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus, the State Institution "National Agency" for Tourism and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The conference is dedicated to the World Tourism Day and the 20th anniversary of the National Tourism Agency.

The Cup of the Republic of Belarus in judo was held from September 23 to 25 in the hall of game sports of the Olympic Sports Complex in Mogilev. More than 100 athletes took part in the competition, among them the strongest judoists from all regions of the country. According to the results of the final fights, the Gomel region, whose honor was defended by students of the Faculty of Physical Culture of our university, took second place in the team competition, losing to Minsk residents and leaving behind the national team from Vitebsk.

On September 23, a working meeting of the delegations of our university and Heze University (China) took place in an online format. In the format of a video message, the rector of the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University Sergei Khakhomov. In his speech, he noted: "The University is proud of its long-term, friendly and partnership relations with educational and scientific institutions of the People's Republic of China. For many years of strategic partnership, hundreds of Chinese citizens have received bachelor's, master's and PhD degrees from our university.
