From March 30 to March 31, the championship of the Republic of Belarus in women's freestyle wrestling among young people up to 23 years old was held on the basis of the Olympic training center Stayki. About 150 best athletes of the country who fought in twenty weight divisions took part in the competition. The athletes of the Gomel region topped the overall standings and showed a good result, managed to score 155 points in male divisions and took the third place, and the girls won "silver".

On March 30, our university hosted a round table on the RADIUM project “EU best practices-based education  in Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Culture for the Belarusian Academia” of the Erasmus + program. The project is implemented jointly by European universities (University of Bologna (Italy), Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain), Hasselt University (Belgium), Mannheim University (Germany)) and six universities of the Republic of Belarus.

On March 26, students of the Faculty of History, specializing in "Linguistic Support of Intercultural Communications (international tourism)" of the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University took part in the online debates in English.

The XXIV Republican Scientific Conference of Students and Postgraduates "New Mathematical Methods and Computer Technologies in Design, Production and Scientific Research" was held on the basis of the Faculty of Mathematics and Programming Technologies on March 22-24. The conference is held annually with the aim of summarizing the results of the research work of young specialists, exchange and dissemination of research experience accumulated in the current academic year. Traditionally, the conference is characterized by a variety of presented reports.

In the F. Skorina Gomel State University, in the admission campaign of 2021, they will open a set for three new specialties - at the Faculty of Physics and Information Technologies and the Faculty of Philology.

Republican Universiade 2021in chess and draughts was held at the Republican Center for Olympic Training in Chess and Draughts on March 18-19. Composite student teams of higher education institutions played in 8 rounds according to the Swiss system. Time control was 10 minutes per game for each participant + 5 seconds per move, starting from the first one.

A round table "Khatyn - the pain of the Belarusian people" was held at the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University. Exactly 78 years ago the Nazis and their accomplices carried out one of the most inhuman punitive actions against the civilian population of Belarus, during which 149 residents of the Khatyn village were burned alive or shot, 75 of them were children. A small village has forever become a symbol of the tragedy of the Belarusian people, a mournful page in the history of the Great Patriotic War, which must not be forgotten.

The Department of Ecology, together with the regional public association "Gomel Association of Children and Youth" ASDEMO (http://asdemo.org), a private environmental educational institution "Ecotiva", with the support of the Gomel Regional Committee of Natural Resources and Protection environment held an educational student event "CREATON: Water" on World Water Day, March 22.

The Department of Theory and Methods of Physical Education of F. Skorina Gomel State University took part in the XII International Scientific and Practical Conference "Modern Problems and Prospects for the Development of Physical Education, Health and Professional Training of Future Specialists in Physical Education and Sports" organized by the National Pedagogical University named after M.P. Dragomanova (Kiev, Ukraine) on March 18-19.

The International Round Table “Historical and Cultural Heritage of Belarus and Russia. The memory of culture is eternal ”, organized online by Francisk Skorina Gomel State University jointly with Russian universities - the I. Yakovlev Chuvash State Pedagogical University and Pskov State University.
