Since May 6, 2024, as part of the collaboration agreement between Francisk Skorina Gomel State University and Heze University (Heze, China), faculty members from the Faculty of Physics and Information Technology and Faculty of Psychology and Pedagogy have been undergoing an internship at Heze University.

The teachers are getting acquainted with the educational process, study plans and programs. They have visited educational and scientific laboratories, discussed the prospects of conducting joint research and programs for mutually beneficial partnerships.

The rector of the university, Sergey Khakhomov visited the Institute of Continuous Education and the Faculty of Microelectronics at Nanjing University of Science and Technology. As part of the visit, a scientific seminar was organized where the results of the joint Belarusian-Chinese project “Design of spatial-temporal modulated metasurface for electromagnetic wave manipulation” were presented. The project’s scientific supervisor is Sergey Khakhomov.

On May 17, the delegation of the Francisk Skorina Gomel State university visited the Nanjing University of Science and Technology. During the meeting with the leadership of the Chinese university partner, an agreement on cooperation in the field of master’s training was reached, joint scientific projects were discussed and the functioning of the Confucius Institute at the Francisk Skorina Gomel State university and the Center for Belarusian studies at the NUST were reviewed.

On April 29, the week of "Inter-GSU 2024" has begun - a significant event dedicated to strengthening friendships between foreign and Belarusian students. The festive activities were launched with an interuniversity Russian language olympiad for first-year foreign students, in which participants not only represented our university but also included foreign students from Gomel State Medical University, Belarusian Trade and Economics University of Consumer Cooperatives, and P.O. Sukhoi Gomel State University.

Francisk Skorina Gomel State University was visited by a delegation from the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Belarus. The delegation included the Second Secretary of the Embassy, Huang Kai, the Third Secretary of the Embassy, Jia Wei, as well as a representative of the Association of Chinese Students in the Republic of Belarus, Men Zelyan. The Chinese diplomats met with the rector of the university, Sergey Khakhomov.

The event dedicated to the International Chinese Language Day, organized by the Confucius Institute at Francisk Skorina Gomel State University, took place at Gymnasium No. 46 named after Blaise Pascal in Gomel, where optional Chinese language classes have been held during the current academic year.

Students and postgraduates from China and Congo studying at the Faculty of Ecnomics of our university accompanied by the senior lecturer of the Department of Economic Informatics, Accounting and Commerce Natalia Bartashevich visited the confectionary factory “Spartak”. The products of this enterprise are well-known not only in the Republic of Belarus but also far beyond its borders, including the Chinese market. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the factory showcasing impressive levels of technology and product equipment.

A meeting with foreign students was held at the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University where representatives from the Citizenship and Migration Departments of the Central and Zheleznodorozhny districts of Gomel Julia Kirillova and Natalia Avchinnikova, as well as Oleg Sinyakov from the Gomel Border Group were present.

On April 11, a delegation of the Alliance of Economic and Commercial Advisors of China led by the organization’s chairman Zhu Yan Ci visited the university. The guests met with the First Vice-Rector Andrey Kruk, toured the laboratories of the Faculty of Physics and Information Technologies, and visited the Confucius Institute. During the meeting the prospects for promoting Belarussian educational services in Asian countries were discussed.
