The 2nd International week was held from November 19 – 24, 2018 under the initiative of the Faculty of Finance at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. Head of the Department of finances and credit Olga Bashlakova and professor of the Department of finances and credit Sergei Kamornikov took part in this event. Workshops and lectures were organized by the lecturers from Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Hungary, Italy, Poland, France and Scotland.

Chinese industrial companies Wuxi Qiantai New Material Technology and Нwabon Рrecision Steel Tube are interested in cooperation with the researchers of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University. Opportunities and horizons of joint work have been discussed during the visit of the delegation of GSU to Wuxi.

Doctor of physics and mathematics, docent, Rector of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University Sergei Khakhomov, Director of research and development institute of physics and chemistry professor Alexander Rogachev and co-director of Confucius Institute from China Wang Lei paid a visit to Nanjing University of science and technologies (Nanjing, China) within the frames of the second Board meeting of the 1st council of Confucius Institute.

Francisk Skorina Gomel State University is extending cooperation with higher education establishments of China. Delegation of GSU paid a visit to Jiangnan University (Wuxi, China), where the Rectors of partner universities Sergei Khakhomov and Chen Jian discussed prospects for the development in educational and scientific sectors.

Delegations from more 150 countries and regions took part in the 13th Confucius Institute Conference in Chengdu. Confucius Institute of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University was represented by Rector of the University Sergei Khakhomov and Director of research and development institute of physics and chemistry Alexander Rogachev.

On November 29 – 30, 2018 the Faculty of geology and geography hosted the 4th International scientific and practical conference of students, PhD students and young researchers “Relevant issues of Earth sciences within the concept of steady development of Belarus and the neighboring countries”.

167 research works from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Poland were submitted for participation. 53 participants represented results of their work at the plenary and section meetings.

On November 29 – December 2, 2018 Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University (Kaliningrad, Russia) hosted the International scientific and practical conference “Innovative approaches in sports education”, where the representatives from Belarus, Russia, Poland, the Netherlands, Italy and Latvia took part in.

New Delhi hosted Women's World Boxing Championship on November 12 – 25, 2018. 227 sportsmen from 62 countries took part in the contest.

On November 15, 2018, students of the Faculty of Physics and Information Technologies visited Bel Huawei Technologies LLC (Minsk). The students were addressed by Wang Yuzhou, product manager for Smart home and Three Cloud. The children got an insight into the modern equipment of the technological direction "Smart Home / Smart Environment", examples of the integration of devices of this direction in the Belarusian market and prospects for the development of the economy based on interactive M2M data collection and processing. The students visited the teleconferencing laboratory.

On November 12, Global Entrepreneurship Week 2018 officially started in Minsk. This is an annual global event bringing together about 170 countries. In Belarus, GEW has been held since 2011 under the auspices of the Belbiz Business Communications Center with the financial support of American and European organizations. The week was opened by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Sergei Rumas, and the heads of the western diplomatic missions.
