Ms Fionna Gibb, Her Majesty’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Belarus, visited Francisk Skorina Gomel State University.

The meeting with the students and the University board was devoted to discussion of the issues of cooperation between GSU and the British Council in the field of English language, various opportunities of implementation of joint projects aiming at reinforcement of language competence of teachers and students.

Lectors of German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the rock band “Solche” visited Francisk Skorina Gomel State University on October 31, 2018. For many years DAAD lecturers have been organizing the informative and educational meetings at GSU presenting the aims and purposes of DAAD to the students, postgraduates and lecturers of our University.

Belarusian National Technical University hosted the international scientific conference “Belarus in globalization and integration processes” on October 25, 2018. Vice Dean of the Law faculty A. Zlotnikov, senior lecturer of the department of criminal law and process S. Sys and the student of the Law faculty A. Voronovich took part in the conference.

The first Forum of regions of Belarus and Ukraine is held in Gomel on October 25 – 26, 2018. The educational sections were organized at the premises of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University and Sukhoi State Technical University of Gomel. Rectors' Council of Higher Educational Institutes of Belarus was organized at GSU. More than 100 of scholars, specialists and high school representatives visited the event.

Representatives of the University took part in the exhibition of products of the enterprises of Belarus and Ukraine organized within the frames of the 1st Forum of regions at Gomel Athletics Palace. GSU specialists presented their research and development production at the exhibition.

100 Belarusian and 50 Ukrainian companies demonstrated their achievements and developments in the consumer goods sector, energetics, science and technologies, innovations, agriculture, building industry, transport, tourism, medicine and education.
 

Professor of Stockholm University, the Director of AlbaNova University Center, member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and elected member of the Nobel Committee for Physics, Mats Larsson, paid a working visit to Francisk Skorina Gomel State University.

On October 18, 2018 the Faculty of economics hosted VII International research and practical conference “Relevant issues of economic development: theory and practice in current environment” – the readings in remembrance of the famous Russian and Belarusian economist Mikhail Nauchitel. The first conference was held in Gomel in 2008 and over the last ten years engaged the representatives from Belarus, China, Nigeria, Poland, Lithuania, Russia and Ukraine.

Director of the Research and development institute of physics and chemistry of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University, corresponding member of the National Academy of sciences of the Republic of Belarus, Doctor of chemical sciences, Professor Alexander Rogachev has been elected as an Honorary Professor of Taiyuan University of Technology (China) at the scientific conference at this University.

Vilnius University hosted the international conference Oxygenalia'2018 on October 11 – 13, 2018. The event was organized under the aegis of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Jagiellonian University (Kraków), Vilnius University and Poznan university of Medical Sciences.
