New specialties are opened at Francisk Skorina Gomel State University

The Faculty of Mathematics and Programming Technologies offers applicants the specialty "Applied Informatics" (computer systems software) with a specialization in «Multimedia Systems and Internet Programming. »

“An analysis of the labor market of the Gomel region suggests that the need for highly qualified specialists in modern information technologies remains very high,” says the Dean of the Faculty, candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, associate professor Sergei Zhogal. - Companies need employees who have thorough knowledge of operating systems, specialists who are trained for developing software using programming languages ​​of various levels.

Graduates of the specialty will work as information system designers, managers of software projects, project managers for software development. For admission, applicants must undergo centralized testing in Physics, Mathematics, Belarusian or Russian.

This year, responding to the trends of the times, the Faculty of History of the GSU announces the first admission to the specialty “Linguistic support of intercultural communications (international tourism)”. The Dean of the Faculty of History, candidate of historical sciences, associate professor Stanislav Cherepko, noted, that the training of qualified specialists in the field of travel industry has been conducted at the faculty for several years.

“Many students of the Faculty of History, who have received the qualification of “Manager for Cultural Heritage and Tourism”, work successfully in the travel industry. However, we see the main trends that are developing in the labor market, and we strive to comply with them.              

Graduates will master in-depth knowledge in the field of tourism and foreign languages ​​(English, German), will receive the qualification of “Specialist in intercultural communications. Interpreter Consultant (English and German). ” For admission, applicants will need to pass a centralized testing in the English language, the history of Belarus, Belarusian or Russian.

The Faculty of Philology will open a set for the specialty "Russian language and literature. Foreign language (English). ” The main purpose of training in this area is to prepare a specialist with humanitarian technologies in the field of communication and teaching, to develop his communicative knowledge and skills in the field of interpersonal and social interaction at the level of an individual, group, community.

“There is lack of teachers who are equally fluent in national and foreign languages in the field of education, able to instill in students love and respect for their native language, and teach them how to rationally use a foreign language,” emphasizes Dean of the Faculty, candidate of philological sciences, associate professor Elena Poluyan. “An important nuance is that upon admission to this specialty for applicants, the benefits that apply to admission to pedagogical specialties are preserved. School graduates must pass the centralized testing in Russian and English, and pass an exam in Russian literature at the university. ”
