Doctor of Economics, Professor of the Department of Informatics and Information Management of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (AESM) of the city of Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, Head of the Information Security Laboratory Sergey Antonovich Okhrimenko held an online lecture on the topic "Shadow digital economy" on November 12.
Introducing the respected scientist to the student audience, Associate Professor of the Department of Economic Informatics, Accounting and Commerce Miss Pugachyova said that the department of the university has been cooperating with the AESM for over 10 years. During these years, the department annually participated in conferences on information security, which were organized by the distinguished professor, two years ago a video conference was held on the same topic, in which, in addition to Moldova and Belarus, representatives of several countries, including Romania, Bulgaria, took part, Ukraine and others.
Students of the Faculty of Economics of the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University took part in student conferences organized by the Information Security Laboratory for many years, all their works were published, and students received Participant Certificates.
This year, an Agreement on scientific and educational cooperation was signed between the educational institution "Francisk Skorina Gomel State University" (Gomel, Republic of Belarus) and the educational institution " Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova " (Chisinau, Republic of Moldova).
The lecture was attended by 2nd year university students specializing in "Economic Informatics", who will study the discipline "Information Security" in the second semester of this academic year, and 3rd year students of the specialty "Economics and Enterprise Management"..
Professor Okhrimenko in his lecture "Shadow Digital Economy" drew the students' attention to the relevance of the issues under consideration, since in the conditions of the development of the digital economy, the formation of negative trends in the information society has not been sufficiently studied. A special role in these negative processes belongs to the shadow economy. The lecture considers the problematic issues of defining the category of "shadow digital economy", discusses various definitions and possible characteristics of the shadow digital economy, its relationship with criminal activity - cybercrime. An important place was occupied by the consideration of the features characteristic of the information field of the shadow economy, hardware and software used in criminal activities. At the end of the lecture, the problems of a comprehensive strategy for countering the shadow digital economy were considered and answers were given to questions from the student audience.
