Belarusian marathon and ultramarathon championships

On November 7, the Belarusian Marathon and ultramarathon Championships were held in Minsk. Athletes from every regional city of our country took part in this event, who dedicated this Sunday to testing their strength and capabilities.

At 11.00 in the area of the bike path near the Sports Palace, more than 150 runners ran away to conquer their difficult distances. The championship was held in two disciplines: the marathon was 42 km 195 meters and the ultramarathon was 50 km.

Most of the distance ran along the famous bike path of Minsk, located in various parks and avenues of our capital. The participants of the marathon race had to overcome almost one full circle on the bike path, while the ultramarathon distance went even further, and at the end - two laps at the National Olympic Stadium "Dinamo", where the finish was located. At the finish, the participants received well-deserved medals, hot tea, and food. After that, the award ceremony took place. The winners were awarded with diplomas and money prizes. Among the participants of the championship is the laboratory assistant of the Department of Theory and Methodology of Physical Training Svetlana Jarovaja, who took first place in her age category, as well as second place in the absolute women's competition at the ultramarathon distance.
