A solemn presentation of master's degrees in the specialty "Theory and methodology of education" to ten citizens of the People's Republic of China who studied under the English-language program took place at the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University at the Faculty of Psychology and Pedagogy.
A significant number of undergraduates from China study at the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University in English-language master's degree programs. The greatest demand among students from the Middle Kingdom are the specialties " Theory and methodology of education ", "Psychology", "Economics", "Accounting, analysis and audit", "Jurisprudence", "Physical Culture and Sports". The interest of the Chinese side in cooperation with the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University is increasing every year. Educational and scientific cooperation between the University and educational institutions of the People's Republic of China has a rather long history – Chinese students and postgraduates began studying at the State University several decades ago. Over the years of cooperation, hundreds of citizens of the Celestial Empire have been trained in the programs of specialization, master's and postgraduate studies at GSU, joint scientific laboratories and branches of GSU have been opened by Chinese universities on the basis of the Shanghai Professional Institute of Industry, Commerce and Foreign Languages and the Nanjing University of Science and Technology. Since 2017, the first regional Confucius Institute has been operating at GSU.
Currently, several hundred foreign citizens from 20 countries are studying at the university. The bulk of foreign students are citizens of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Iraq, Yemen, China, Israel, Russia, Ukraine, Vietnam, Nigeria, Libya, Lebanon, Ghana, Cameroon.
High quality of education, developed modern infrastructure and confident leadership in national and international university rankings (for the last few years, according to the Webometrics international rating, GSU has been ranked 3rd among universities of the Republic of Belarus and is among the top 10% of the world's universities) attracts an increasing number of foreign students to the university, allows us to conclude mutually beneficial cooperation agreements with foreign partners from all regions of the world.
