The Days of Belarusian Science were held in the National Pavilion of the Republic of Belarus at the World Exhibition EXPO 2020, which is being held in Dubai. The opening of the forum was postponed for a year due to the pandemic, but they did not change the name for marketing and branding purposes.

Scientific and educational achievements of the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University were presented by Alina Semchenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Radiophysics and Electronics, and Dmitry Pilipcov, a leading researcher in the research sector. They made presentations on "Functional sol-gel coatings for solar energy, optics and technology" and "Vacuum plasma methods for the synthesis of functional carbon and polymer coatings". There is also a presentation about the existing educational programs at the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University for international students, undergraduates and postgraduates, booklets about educational programs and scientific and technical developments. The delegation of the Ministry of Education of Belarus visited the pavilions of the Russian Federation, China, Kazakhstan, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, informed marketing specialists about the educational and scientific opportunities of our country.

The EXPO 2020 exhibition, which runs until March 31 under the slogan “Uniting minds, creating the future”, covers an area of 438 hectares. Each participating country, and there are almost two hundred of them, strives to tell about themselves as interestingly as possible. Video series, installations, stands, brochures - everything is subordinated to this goal.

Education, science, medicine and other fields of activity are widely represented in the pavilion of our country. The industrial potential of the Gomel region looked very significant. The stands also reflect the educational and scientific achievements of our university. In addition, the pavilion demonstrated the sights and wonderful nature of Belarus, tourist attraction, cultural heritage, traditions and modernity.

The UAE is a country whose climate is strikingly different from ours. Dubai is a modern man-made city on the shores of the Persian Gulf, which grew up where there was a desert fifty years ago. Its bold modern architecture, futuristic landscapes make a vivid impression.

Associate Professor of the Department of Radiophysics and Electronics
