On December 16-17, Minsk hosted the International Student Competition on International Trade Law and International Commercial Arbitration "Chamber of Arbitrators - 2021", in which a team of Faculty of Law students took 1st place.

The organizers of the competition were the UN Commission on International Trade Law UNCITRAL, the Public Association "Belarusian Republican Union of Lawyers", the Belarusian State University, the Minsk Regional Board Association, the International Arbitration (Arbitration) Court "Chamber of Arbitrators at the Union of Lawyers".

On December 18, Minsk hosted the final and most important event of the outgoing 2021. This was a match between the leaders of women's handball of the Republic of Belarus. The final score of the match is 24:28 in favor of the Gomel handball club.

The junior national team of Belarus took the second place at the European Youth Olympic Festival.

The defender of the hockey club “Gomel”– is a first-year student of the Faculty of Physical Training of our university Nikita Zhikharev.

On December 16-17, Faculty of Physical Training of the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University took part in the All-Russian scientific and practical conference of young scientists, postgraduates, undergraduates, applicants and students "Problems of improving physical culture, sports and Olympism" (Omsk, Russia).

On December 20, the II International Scientific Conference of Young Researchers "Step into Science: Problems, searches, solutions" was held at the walls of the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University.

QS EECA University Rankings is a ranking of higher education institutions in developing countries in Europe and Central Asia. This rating has been compiled since 2014 by the British agency Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).

The criteria of QS, which is one of the three most authoritative rankings in the world, are quantitative data about the university. We are talking about the number of students and teachers, foreign teachers and students, citations of scientific papers, the results of surveys of academic experts and employers from around the world.

For the first time, the International thematic discussion “Culture is the fifth skill" by Barry Tomalin on the topic of intercultural communication and cultural characteristics of countries and peoples of the world took place at the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University. 11 teams of language specialties of Belarusian and Russian universities took part in the event in the format of a videoconference. The organizer and inspirer of the discussion was the Department of Intercultural Communications and International Tourism of Gomel University.

On December 8, the Confucius Institute held the III International Scientific and Practical Conference "Chinese Language and Culture of China in the East Slavic context". Two previous conferences on similar topics were held in 2017 and 2019.

On December 14-15, the second visiting meeting of the Republican Student Collegium is taking place in Gomel. 30 people get acquainted with the socio-economic potential of the region, share opinions on topical issues.

The main directions of development and career guidance were discussed at an open dialogue within the walls of the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University. Young people were able to ask questions of interest to them, as well as discuss current directions for implementation.

On December 10,  Faculty of Physical Training of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University co-organized a round table on the topic: "Neuropsychological technologies in the psychological and pedagogical support of children with disabilities" (Moscow State University, Moscow, Russia).
