On March 16, our university hosted the traditional VII International Scientific and Practical online Conference of students and young scientists “Theory and practice of teaching foreign languages: traditions and prospects for development”, the founders of which are the Faculty of Romano-Germanic Languages of Moscow State Regional University (Moscow, Russian Federation) and the Faculty of Foreign Languages of the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University (Gomel, Belarus).

From March 13 to 18, the Asia-Pacific Best Practice Marathon is taking place, which is attended by representatives of 6 countries:

•  Iran,
• China,
• Malaysia,
• Russia

The marathon competition includes the performance of a competitive task, which participants solve within 3 days to obtain a practical result.

On March 4 Faculty of Physical Culture of the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University co-organized a round table with the State Social and Humanitarian University (Kolomna, Russia) on the topic: “Actual problems of physical education, students and tourism. Development and prospects”.

A meeting of foreign students with the deputy head of the Department for Citizenship and Migration of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee, police Lieutenant Colonel Andrej Smaljuga took place at the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University. The meeting was also attended by the Vice-rector for Educational Work of the University Yury Nikityuk and the head of the Department of International Affairs Alexander Grahotsky.

On February 23, a webinar “SAP practice in IBA group – short overview” for 2nd and 3rd year students took place at the Faculty of Mathematics and Programming Technologies. The webinar was conducted by a representative of the leading IT company of the Gomel region “IVA-Gomel-Park” - SAP business analyst Kirill Drobyshevskij.

On February 21, the Faculty of Psychology and Pedagogy defended their master's theses by undergraduates from China, studying for a year on an English-language program in the specialty “Theory and methodology of education”. Eight representatives of the Celestial Empire adequately passed the exam.

This holiday is shrouded in legends and mysteries, and the personality of St. Valentine himself is surrounded by riddles and contradictions.
