In December Minsk hosted the final international conference on the project of ERASMUS + “Fostering Competencies Development in Belarusian Higher Education (FOSTERC)”. Francisk Skorina Gomel State University was represented by the delegation  including representatives of the project work group.

The international conference was organized by the Republican Institute of Higher Education in conjunction with the Research Institute INGENIO of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain). 

Representatives of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University visited the Center for Belarusian Studies at the Nanjing University, where a meeting was held with the teaching staff of the University. During the visit, Rector of Gomel State University Sergei Khakhomov donated the scientific and methodological literature about Belarus to the Center at the University of Nanjing.

Delegation of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University headed by Rector of the University Sergei Khakhomov took part in the meeting of the Council of the Confucius Institute, held at the Nanjing University of Science and Technology (Nanjing, China). During the meeting, a report was presented on the work conducted by the Confucius Institute at Francisk Skorina Gomel State University in 2019, and a work plan for 2020 was agreed.

Delegation of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University headed by Rector Sergei Khakhomov took part in a scientific seminar within the frames of implementation of an international agreement with the Belarusian Republican Foundation for Fundamental Research “Fundamental research and design of highly sensitive optical sensors based on multilayer microstructures of metamaterials”, held at Jiannan University (Wuxi, China).

Rector of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University met the representatives of Georg-von-Langen-Schule (Holzminden, Germany) Hischer Frank and Schindewolf  Michael Hermann Heinrich.

Upon invitation of the educational establishments Youth Association DRONI»  and «Hagen organization East-West- East Germany e.V.» and with support of Gomel association of children and the youth ASDEMO Head of the Department of ecology Oksana Kovaleva, associate professor of the Department Tatyana Timofeeva and a 4th year student Timofey Levintsov took part in the 2nd stage of ERASMUS+ project «Outdoor Education Encyclopedia for Youth Workers» in Nachrodt-Wiblingwerde / Märkischer Kreis, Germany, on October 3 – 11. 

In-Service Training Workshop for Confucius Institute Directors  was held at the Xiamen University on October 16 – 24, 2019. Oleg Demidenko, Vice Rector for science of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University took part in this event, that gathered representatives from more than 30 countries – Japan, Turkey, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Pakistan, Nigeria, Ghana, Great Britain, Portugal, Poland, Malta, Italy, Ukraine, Belarus, the USA, Brazil, Australia, China and other states.

Representatives of the China-Belarus Great Stone Industrial Park Cao Chen and Nadezhda Krukovskaya spoke at the meeting with the students of the Faculty of Physics and Information Technologies of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University on October 17.

Rector of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University Sergei Khakhomov took part in the international expert session "5 years of the Eurasian Economic Union: society, business, government" in the framework of the First Readings named by A.A. Gromyko held at Kazan Federal University.

Giorgio Nasillo, a leading researcher of the Advanced Technologies Network Center of the University of Palermo (Italy) visited the Faculty of Physics and Information Technologies of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University on October 15, 2019. The visit was held within the course of the academic mobility program Erasmus+ and the project of the Central European Commission KEP 1206.007-18 Spectroscopic properties of sol-gel composite materials exhibiting persistence for the application as luminescent solar concentrators.
