The International Center for Mathematical Education of the Naberezhnye Chelny State Pedagogical University has launched a new project “Mathematics without Borders”  in order to popularize mathematics and develop professional interest among students of the faculty of mathematics and computer science. As part of the initiative, a series of popular lectures was organized by famous scientists-mathematicians and methodologists on the discussion of modern problems of mathematical education.

From May 11 to 14, the Ministry of education of the Republic of Belarus held the final stage of the Republican Olympiad. The Republican Olympiad is an annual competition of schoolchildren in 18 academic subjects. The goal of the intellectual competition is to identify the most capable and gifted students who will represent our country at prestigious international competitions in the future. Only 11th grade students can participate in the final stage. Winning the competition gives graduates advantages in applying to the selected universities.

On May 22, a young scientist-researcher Roman Bekarevich gave a lecture for students of the Faculty of Physics and Information Technology of the F. Skorina State University. Roman is a graduate of our university. Since school, he showed a genuine interest in technical sciences. In 2007, Roman Bekarevich graduated with honors from the Faculty of Physics with a degree in Physical Electronics, after that, he entered the master's program, and then the postgraduate program (specialty “Materials Science”). At the same time he worked as a Junior research fellow at the Gomel state University.

May 16 was marked by the anniversary of the Associate Professor of Optics, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor Anna Nikolaevna Godlevskaya. Anna Nikolaevna was born on May 16 in Gomel in a family of workers. Since childhood, she loved to play school with her friends, dreamed of becoming a teacher. In 1957, she entered the first class of secondary school No. 6 of Gomel, where she graduated with a gold medal.

The Ministry of Education has summed up the XXVI Republican Student Scientific Contest. For the first time in the history of the Faculty of Psychology and Pedagogy, the high rank of the laureate was awarded to graduate of the magistracy Abyshova Rozalina Ildyrym-kyzy (her scientific adviser - head of the department of social and educational psychology, candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor T.G. Shatyuk).  Rosalina's victory is a natural result of her scientific work.

May 9, 1945 is a significant and sacred date for all of our people, this is Victory Day. Every year we are becoming more and more aware of the value and inexorability of the feat of the Soviet people in the struggle against the Nazi invaders. The Great Patriotic War did not pass over a single house, not a single family of Belarus and Gomel. In the year of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory, we want to express the words of unlimited gratitude to all who are involved in it once again. These are the soldiers who fought on the front lines from the first days of the war.

The international scientific Olympiad in pedagogy was held from February to April this year at the BSPU named after M. Tank as part of the Decade of student science in remote mode. The winners were determined on the base of the results of the 3 stage competition.  The team of students and master students of the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University was awarded a diploma of the First degree in the team event.

Registration of participants in centralized testing began at the F.Skorina State University on May 2, 2020. The registration point of a leading university in the Gomel region has a high throughput (registration is carried out by 9 operators!) and works on the principle of “one window”. This year, additional services are provided for applicants: the ability to send an application for registration to the centralized testing by e-mail and coordinate their arrival time at the registration point by phone.

Francisk Skorina Gomel State University and Mogilev State A. Kuleshov University have embarked on the implementation of a new long-term project ERASMUS + “From University to Labour market in the 21st century: a step forward in work-based placements- UniLab” as part of an international consortium of universities.

Teachers and employees of the Faculty of Physics and Information Technology of the Skorina State University handed over another batch of fifty protective face shields to the Gomel city ambulance station. Volunteers also pledged to produce another hundred units of products, which will equip employees of all Gomel emergency medical substations with personal protective equipment.
