The second graduation of the joint Belarusian-Russian magistracy took place at the Faculty of Physics and IT. Master's students Kirill Kopertekhov, Alexander Maevsky and Aleksey Shkal successfully defended their master's theses and received diplomas from the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University and the National Research University "MIET" (Moscow). The defense of diplomas at a Moscow university took place online because of the prevailing epidemiological situation. The good news is that the scores of our undergraduates have grown in comparison with the first graduation!

On July 18, the republican youth train “# BELARUS. YOUTH. INSPIRATION". The project of the Ministry of Education, the Belarusian Republican Union of Youth and the Belarusian Railway brought together about a hundred guys and girls - representatives of the talented youth of our country. The GSU team includes guys who are actively involved in the life of the university and the city: Maria Yurkova, Dmitry Dreizin, Alexey Zaitsev, Oleg Lisitsky, Igor Satsukevich.

Francisk Skorina Gomel State University was awarded in the "Education" nomination according to the results of the republican competition "Best Exporter of 2019". The competition was traditionally held by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry together with the ministries of architecture and construction, health, foreign affairs, forestry, industry, agriculture and food, transport and communications, economy and a number of other state bodies, organizations and business unions in 22 nominations.

Sergei Khakhomov, Rector of the F. Skorina GSU, took part in a regular meeting of the Coordination Council for Cooperation with the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research under the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus at JINR. The participants discussed the results of the work and prospects for further cooperation in the field of scientific research.

On July 15, the participants of the regional essay competition "The Spring of Salvation" were awarded. According to the results of the competition, Dmitry Bogdanovich took the 1st place in the category "Tales of the Older Generation about Springs" in the older age category. Anastasia Lushchaeva took the 2nd place in the category "Best Environmental Military History".

An award ceremony was held for the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China at the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Belarus on July 10. Students and schoolchildren studying Chinese became its laureates. Among 42 Sinologists, the award was given to the 2020 graduate of the Faculty of Philology Violetta Beloded. The prize was awarded to Violetta's successful performance at the III Belarusian Republican Student Olympiad in the Chinese language, which was held in March 2020.

As part of the 2020 Innovation Week in Nanjing, Professor Alexander Rogachev, Director of the Scientific Research Institute of Physics and Chemistry at Francisk Skorina State University and the Confucius Institute at our university, received the Jinling Friendship award. This award was presented to 15 foreign experts. In order to thank foreign experts for their contribution to the economic construction and social development of Nanjing, the Nanjing Municipal People's Government established the Jinling Friendship Award in 2007.

A solemn ceremony of presenting state awards took place in Minsk on July 2. President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko presented well-deserved awards to representatives of various professions, those who selflessly serve the Motherland. Among the guests - Professor of the Department of Algebra and Geometry, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Alexander Skiba. Alexander Nikolaevich was awarded the title of Honored Scientist.

On June 30, 2020, a republican seminar was held online within the framework of the international project UniLab "From university to the labor market in the 21st century: a step to learning in real production conditions" (under the auspices of the ERASMUS + program of the European Commission). In recent years, the widespread introduction of technology for conducting research and project work of students has become a noticeable phenomenon in additional education all over the world. The Foundation "Time for Science", St. Petersburg opened a new project "Methodological laboratory of the scientific advisor" for the further development of this type of activity of schoolchildren.
