On September 30th, a Leisure Center at the Confucius Institute was ceremoniously inaugurated in the hall on the third floor of the fifth building of the university. The Rector of the university, Sergey Khakhomov, along with the directors of the Confucius Institute from both Belarusian and Chinese sides, Alexander Rogachev and Ji Yimin, participated in the opening ceremony.
Dear students from Turkmenistan! September 27 marks the main official holiday of your homeland - Independence Day of Turkmenistan. Celebrating national holidays at our university, where over 1,300 students from more than 20 countries acquire knowledge and professional competencies, has long been a good tradition. Today, various events symbolizing friendship and respect for the traditions of the peoples of both countries will take place for the young men and women who have come to study in Gomel from Turkmenistan.
On September 14, the City Day was celebrated widely and festively in Gomel. Amidst a kaleidoscope of colors, bright costumes, and lively melodies, the exhibition of the Confucius Institute of our university, located on the banks of the Sozh River, stood out. It is worth noting that the staff of the Institute and the teachers of the Chinese language have accumulated significant experience in organizing similar city events, which is why the platform of the Confucius Institute was organized thoughtfully and creatively.

According to the latest update of the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities (WRWU), the university confidently holds the prestigious 4th place among higher educational institutions in the Republic of Belarus.
The defense of dissertations by master's students from the People's Republic of China, who have been studying at Francisk Skorina Gomel State University in English-language programs, continues. In 2024, several experimental projects will be implemented in collaboration with Chinese partner universities to introduce integrated educational programs in a number of specialties that are in demand in China.
A delegation from Nanjing University of Science and Technology, led by the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Yan Wei, visited Francisk Skorina Gomel State University. The guests met with Rector Sergey Khakhomov and visited the Confucius Institute at Francisk Skorina Gomel State University, where a round table discussion was organized. In June 2024, Francisk Skorina Gomel State University strengthened its international standing by securing a position in the range of 1501+ in the "Times Higher Education Impact Rankings" among more than two thousand higher education institutions.
A delegation from the Institute of Entrepreneurship at the Inner Mongolia University, led by Rector Bao Guankai, visited Francisk Skorina Gomel State University. The Institute is located in Huh Hot, a sister city of Gomel. During the visit, a meeting was held with the university's rector, Sergey Khakhomov. A cooperation agreement was signed, outlining the implementation of joint educational and research projects, as well as the exchange of students and faculty.
The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Se Xiaoyun, visited Francisk Skorina Gomel State University. During the meeting with the university administration, Rector Sergey Khakhomov shared updates on the development of partnerships with seventeen Chinese educational institutions, the successful operation of the Confucius Institute at Gomel State University, and the joint Belarusian-Chinese educational programs.
On May 22, a delegation from Francisk Skorina Gomel State University, led by Sergey Khakhomov, is participating in the Second Forum of the Belarusian-Chinese University Association held at Dalian Polytechnic University (Dalian, China). The forum was opened by the Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus, Andrey Ivanets and the Deputy Minister of Education of People’s Republic of China Chen Jie. During the plenary session of the forum, a ceremony was held to establish cluster mechanisms.
