The Unified Information Day took place in Belarus on October 16. The discussion theme was "The Role of Family Values in Modern Society."

A meeting organised for university graduates was held in the conference hall of Gomel State University named after F. Skorina.

Major of Internal Service, Senior Inspector of the Correctional Institution ‘Correctional Colony No. 24’ of the Department of Corrections of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Gomel Region, Anna Borovaya, presented detailed information about the colony's activities, working conditions, and guarantees provided to young specialists.

On 16 October, the university hosted an event dedicated to World Restart a Heart Day. Such events are held to draw attention to the importance of learning cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills.

Instructors and volunteers from the Belarusian Red Cross conducted a training flash mob for staff and students. Participants learned about the importance of providing timely first aid in the event of cardiac arrest and were able to practise cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques on special mannequins.

On 15 October, the final chess competition of the year-round sports competition among the university's faculties was held at the university's sports complex No. 7. Students competed for the honour of their faculties and for the title of the best of the best.

The prize places were distributed as follows:

    1st place – Konstantin Shevlyukov, student of the Faculty of Mathematics and Programming Technologies (responsible for sports and mass work at the faculty – V.N. Tomashov).

Students from Francisk Skorina Gomel State University visited School No. 26 to tell the younger generation about the profession of journalism. The event for 8th and 10th grade students was organised and conducted by second-year journalism students.

A delegation from Heze University, led by Vice-Rector Cui Xiangyan, visited Francisk Skoryna Gomel State University.

During the visit, a meeting was held with the university's management to discuss the implementation of a joint educational programme for training specialists in the field of physics. Currently, 220 Chinese citizens are studying at GSU within the framework of this programme.

Representatives of Heze University visited the museum exhibition dedicated to the history of the university, as well as the Faculty of Physics and Information Technology of GSU.

Yuri Nikityuk, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, and Sergey Azavchikov, Chairman of the Trade Union Organisation, addressed the audience with warm congratulations.

The student club performed musical numbers in the hall, and flowers, sweets and surprises from the rector's office and the trade union organisation added to the festive atmosphere.

On October 8, a meeting of the competition commission was held to form a promising personnel reserve from among students and master's students of the educational institution “Gomel State University named after Francis Skorina” for the 2025/2026 academic year. The commission was headed by Dmitry Khodanovich, Vice-Rector for Ideological and Educational Work.
