The program was rich and interesting. Heads of seven higher educational institutions of the region, as well as Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Dmitry Aleynikov visited the Confucius Institute at Francisk Skorina Gomel State University. They got acquainted with the material and technical base, plunged into traditional Chinese culture, attended a tea ceremony, enjoyed playing the guzhen and painting in the Gohua technique.

December 20 marked the fifth anniversary of the opening of the Confucius Institute at our university – the first regional institution of this type at that time. Over the past five years, the Institute has developed a coherent system of work, which consists in conducting Chinese language classes at the Hieroglyph courses, organizing various events related to traditional Chinese culture. Some students of these courses are prize–winners and winners of various competitions and Olympiads, including the international Olympiad "Bridge of the Chinese Language".

On September 20, Cui Chuanjiang, director of the Confucius Institute at Francisk Skorina Gomel State University from the Chinese side, and V.I. Koval, a specialist of the Confucius Institute, made a working trip to the Confucius Institute of the Minsk Linguistic University to get acquainted with the experience of colleagues and the development of friendly relations.

Congratulations to Ji Hehe on the successful defense of the dissertation "Problems of identification and self-identification of the author and heroes in the works of V.L. Kigna-Dedlov". Scientific supervisor – Head of the Department of Belarusian Literature, Doctor of Philology, Professor Ivan Fedorovich Steiner, submitted for the degree of Candidate of Philological Sciences in the specialty 10.01.02 – Russian literature in the Council D 02.01.12 at the Belarusian State University.

A solemn presentation of master's degrees in the specialty "Theory and methodology of education" to ten citizens of the People's Republic of China who studied under the English-language program took place at the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University at the Faculty of Psychology and Pedagogy.

Among the Belarusian institutions of higher education, nine universities of the country are already included in the rating, including Francisk Skorina Gomel State University. Francisk Skorina Gomel State University has taken a firm position in the top five universities of Belarus.

Rector of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University Sergei Khakhomov, using information and communication technologies, made a presentation to scientists, staff, graduate students and undergraduates of the Nanjing University of Science and Technology.

The topic of the report is “Design and investigation of metamaterials with helical and omega inclusions for microwave range” (Development and research of metamaterials with helical and omega inclusions for the microwave range).

After the report, Sergei Khakhomov answered numerous questions from colleagues.

In the updated Webometrics ranking, Francisk Skorina Gomel State University took the third position among Belarusian universities and 3,832 – among the universities of the world.

Francisk Skorina Gomel State University is traditionally among the leaders among the institutions of higher education in Belarus. The first place was taken by the Belarusian State University, the second – by the Belarusian National Technical University.

On June 28, 2022, the IV International Correspondence Scientific and Practical Conference “VECTORS of PSYCHOLOGY: personal support in the modern socio-digital educational environment” started at the Faculty of Psychology and Pedagogy, which has already become traditional and marks the symbolic summing up of the research and methodological work of the outgoing academic year.

The conference is attended by scientists from Belarus, Russia, Moldova, and China.
