The team of the student research laboratory “Start” of the Department of Theory and Methodology of Physical Training (supervisor - senior lecturer Sergei Melnikov) took the 2nd place in the International Student Olympiad in Physical Culture at Orenburg State Pedagogical University (Russian Federation).

The Olympiad was attended by student teams of higher professional education and sports and vocational education of a physical culture profile from Russia and Belarus.

Meeting on the organization of a joint educational program and communication of young teachers between Heze Universities in China and the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University in Belarus symbolically took place in the conference hall of the Confucius Institute.

At the beginning of the meeting, introductory videos were shown, providing basic information about the life and activities of teachers and students, discoveries and achievements of universities. Later, interested parties asked questions to which clear answers were received.

From May 17 to May 20, the international scientific and educational forum “Russian traditions of everyday Linguoculture in the Slavic Borderland” was held in the city of Novozybkov, where the branch of I.G. Petrovsky Bryansk State University is located, co-organized by Francisk Skorina Gomel State University.

The results of the week “Inter-GSU!” were summed up in the concert hall of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University. It turned out to be full of bright events, which were attended not only by foreign students of our university, but also by other universities in the region.

As part of the International Friendship Week, an intellectual event was held among foreign students of 1-2 courses and students of the preparatory department.

On May 10-15, the II International Scientific and Practical Conference “Patterns of transformation of ecological functions of geospheres of large mining regions” was held with the support of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University, Voronezh State University, P.M. Masherov Vitebsk State University, the Center for Geophysical Monitoring of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Belarusian National Group of the International Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment (IAEG) and the Gomel Regional Department of the Belarusian Geographical Society.

The volunteer group “Aksamit” has been operating for almost five years. It was created for the purpose of psychological support of elderly people and veterans living in the boarding house “Vasilevka”. The main idea of the group's activity is to improve the quality of life of lonely elderly people through retrotherapy: participants share their memories, talk about their lives, about their professional path, share important impressions.

“Inter-GSU!” continues! In the contest “Come on, girls!” serious battles for the first place broke out between teams of foreign students and Belarusian students of the preparatory department.

Two teams of five girls in each competed for the victory. The competition included many stages, during which the teams showed their strongest sides. The participants demonstrated their knowledge and talents, showed a creative approach to completing tasks.
