In summing up the past year in Nanjing University of science and technology the title of "man of the year 2020" was awarded Director of the scientific-research physicochemical Institute, GSU named after F. Skorina, corresponding member of NAS of Belarus, honored worker of science of the Republic of Belarus, doctor of chemistry, Professor Alexander Rogachev.
The state awards ceremony took place today at the Palace of the Republic. The Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko personally congratulated more than 60 representatives of various spheres. Teachers and heads of educational institutions, civil servants, cultural and art figures, workers of agro-industrial and energy complexes, transport, communications, construction, tax authorities were noted at the highest level.
On December 22, an open dialogue took place in the conference hall of Gomel State University, the main topic of which was youth self-government. The chief specialist of the Department for Youth Affairs of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus Sergey Aleksandrovich Shmarlovsky, Deputy Head of the Military Recruitment Department of the Military Commissariat of the city of Gomel Major Nikolai Mikhailovich Zvezdkin and assistant of the department of history of the Slavs and special historical disciplines Pavel Leonidovich Zhdanovich.
An online lecture was held by Professor of the University of Palermo Maria Luisa Saladino at the Faculty of Physics and Information Technologies. It was dedicated to the implementation of a joint international project within the framework of the European Union CEI (KEP) 1206.008-19 "Non-destructive multi-analytical methods of research of Old Believers' icons of the Vetka Museum" (head of the project from the Belarusian side is Vladimir Gaishun, Head of the Department of Optics, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences).
On November 12, an online lecture by Professor of New York City University Sergei Viktorovich Samsonov (New York University (NYU), Research Technology Services, Artificial intelligence technical lead, PhD in Physics (The City University of New York, CUNY) took place in the conference hall of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University. The topic of the lecture was "Introduction to programming in the R language" (as part of the discipline "Information technology in biological research").
Doctor of Economics, Professor of the Department of Informatics and Information Management of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (AESM) of the city of Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, Head of the Information Security Laboratory Sergey Antonovich Okhrimenko held an online lecture on the topic "Shadow digital economy" on November 12.
In the context of academic cooperation between the law faculties of Belarus and the Raoul Wallenberg Institute (Sweden), a meeting of the steering committee was held. The director Morten Kjaerum, the head of the Eastern European department of the Swedish agency for international development cooperation Christina Denielson, and the representatives of higher educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus took part in the meeting. There were discussed the issues of the current state of activities in the field of international cooperation and preliminary results for 2020.
