Students of the Law Faculty of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University Ksenia Ibragimova and Anastasia Yarkova completed training at Summer Law School at the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights. 

As explained by the students, participation in the Summer school became an opportunity to examine the foreign system of education and gave new experience and knowledge.

WORLDSKILLS INTERNATIONAL is an international non-profit movement, organizing the International Championship of Professional Excellence every other year to raise the status of vocational education and training standards and qualifications across the globe. This year the Championship will gather more than  1500 participants from 63 countries. 40 participants will represent Belarus, one of them is Alexander Kovalyov, student of the Faculty of Physics and Information Technologies of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University, who won the national challenge contest. 

Visit of scientists from Jiangnan University and Nanjing University of Science and Technology visited Francisk Skorina Gomel State University within the frames of realization of two international agreements with Belarusian Republican Foundation of Fundamental Research “Fundamental research and design of high-sensitive optic sensors based on multilayer microstructures of nano-materials” (research supervisor – doctor of physics and mathematics, docent Sergei Khakhomov) and “Development of two-sided “ideal” absorber of microwaves and THz waves based on metamaterials and metal-polymer polydispe

In accordance with the Ranking of World Universities Webometrics Francisk Skorina Gomel State University ranks among top 5 of the best universities of Belarus.

As for the world ranking, GSU moved up on the rating list of the universities from 3967 position to 3848, being one of 13% best institutions from around the world. Ranking of World Universities Webometrics numbers about 29000 educational institutions, including 57 universities from Belarus.

Harvard University, Stanford University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology make the top 3 best Universities.

The 1st Forum of Regions of Belarus and Uzbekistan was held in Minsk. Rector of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University participated in the Forum as one of the members of Belarusian delegation.

Cooperation between universities and scientific and research organizations of the Union state of Russia and Belarus, participation in international programs and grants, interrelation in the field of information technologies, development of academic mobility – these issues were discussed during the meeting of the acting leader of the Agency of Rossotrudnichestvo Andrey Klintsevich and Rector of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University Sergei Khakhomov.

St. Petersburg hosts the VI Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Russia on July 16 – 18, 2019. Rector of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University is a member of the delegation of Gomel region.

New specialities of the Faculty of economics “Business Administration” and “Informatics for Economics” are available for the next academic year at Francisk Skorina Gomel State University.
