Gomel regional center of the Olympic reserve for athletics hosted the 3rd regional tournament ROBOQUEST. About 200 representatives from supplementary education institutions for children and the youth, general secondary education and private clubs took part in this contest. Teams competed in two categories: Lego WeDo (age groups – 6-7 and 8-9 years) и Lеgo EV3 (age groups 10-13 and 14-17 years).

One of the major direction of all Confucius Institutes is extension of the scope of application of Chinese language and culture within the course of establishment of centers and Chinese studies rooms in educational institutions. Nowadays Chinese language is taught as a facultative discipline in three gymnasiums – No. 10, 71 and Irininskaya gymnasium, two schools – No. 44 and 72, and in gymnasium No. 56 named after A.A. Vishnevsky Chinese language is studied as a foreign language. 

Lecturers and students volunteers of the Faculty of geology and geography and the Faculty of psychology and pedagogics of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University took part in the  seminar within the frames of the project on transborder partnership «THEOREMS-Dnipro» that was hosted by Gomel regional technical library with support from Gomel regional association of children and the youth (ASDEMO).

Professor of Ivan Petrovsky Bryansk State University, doctor of biology Yury Semenischenkov delivered lectures to the 3rd year students at the Department of the botany and plants physicology on the main approaches to ordination of plants and botanico-geographical features of the transborder territory Belarus – Russia. Professor Semenischenkov focused on the goals and problems of his department, concerning publications in the magazines from the base Scopus, financed international projects, presentations at the conferences abroad.

Faculty of Physics and Information Technologies of Francisk Skorina Gomel State University is developing international cooperation with organizations of various countries. A work meeting has been held at Palermo University (Italy) on the project “Spectroscope properties of composite luminescent sol-gel materials from application in solar cells”. It is implemented within the frames of the program of Central European Initiative (CEI Know-how Exchange Programm).

At the invitation of educational establishment “East-West-East Germany” (Kranenburgh, Germany) and with the assistance of Gomel association of children and the youth “ASDEMO” the associate professor of the Department of ecology Tatyana Timofeyeva and Master’s degree student of the Faculty of geology and geography, speciality “Geoecology” Anastasiya Korotkaya took part in ERASMUS+ event “Peace building. Tolerance and discrimination in communities”.
