On October 10, a youth forum was held in Gomel. Among the participants t representatives of our university. One of the main components of the forum was an open dialogue under the slogan “We are Belarus!”. Representatives of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union, local authorities, and the deputy corps took part in the forum as experts. Young people could ask any question of interest and receive a detailed answer from specialists. A rich program with photo zones, master classes and interactive platforms was prepared for the forum participants.

On October 9, the Department of Theory and Methods of Physical Culture of F. Skorina Gomel State University organized the VIII International Scientific and Practical Conference "Actual Problems of Physical Education, Sport and Tourism" with the Faculty of Physical Education of the Mozyr State Pedagogical University named after I.P. Shamyakin "(Mozyr, Republic of Belarus) using the ZOOM platform.

On October 8, the Department of Theory and Methods of Physical Culture of F. Skorina Gomel State University was organized and held an international scientific and practical conference "Physical culture, sport and health in modern society" with the Voronezh State Institute of Physical Culture (Voronezh, Russia). The online conference was opened by the vice-rector for research activities of VSIPC - Olga Nikolaevna Savinkova.

In a solemn atmosphere, the rector of GSU Sergey Khakhomov, chairman of the trade union committee of employees Nikolai Galinovsky, the staff of the Faculty of Economics, its students and graduates congratulated   Sergey Nikolayevich Goveiko, the associate professor of the Department of Economic Informatics, Accounting and Commerce, on his 70th birthday. Long-term fruitful scientific and pedagogical activity, high professionalism and high-quality training of highly qualified personnel distinguish the work of Sergei Nikolaevich. Goveiko S.N.

IV International Conference “Information Technologies and Communication Technologies. Modern Achievements ", dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the foundation of ASTU, takes place at the Astrakhan State Technical University (Astrakhan, Russia) from 5 to 8 October. The conference works in the following areas:

The Republican competition of professional skills of pedagogical workers "Teacher of the Year of the Republic of Belarus - 2020" was held in our country. The Gomel region at the final stages was represented by a graduate of the Faculty of Geology and Geography Losev Vadim Olegovich, a teacher of geography at the State Educational Institution “Secondary School No. 19 in Gomel”. 

On September 17, a meeting of representatives of the legislative and executive authorities with the staff of the university took place at the Gomel State University. The Presidium included representatives of the administration in the person of Rector Sergei Khakhomov and Vice-Rector for Educational Work Yuri Nikityuk, as well as Deputy Head of the Administration of the Central District of the city of Gomel Olga Dotsenko, and Deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Zlotnikov.

Student years are not only lectures, seminars, exams, but also a rich social, cultural and sports life. Great attention is paid to the disclosure of the sports potential of students and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle at our university: competitions in various sports are held at GSU, the sports base is constantly being strengthened. A significant event in the life of the university was the commissioning of the renovated sports and recreation complex, the opening ceremony of which took place on September 16.
