Last Saturday, 25 best programmers from among students of regional universities of the Republic of Belarus gathered in Minsk for the final of the Andersen Programming Contest 2020. At the same time, the final of the Ukrainian part of the competition was held  in remote access mode.

For the second time, this Olympiad has been organized by the international IT company Andersen. This year the partners of the event were Ukrsibbank and Oracle. This is one of the main events in sports programming, allowing students of regional universities in Belarus and Ukraine to test their strength, show their abilities to potential employers and compete for valuable prizes. This year, in addition to souvenirs, these are six laptops, given to the guys with the best scores.

We are pleased to note that the silver medalist of the Olympiad from the Belarusian side was a Gomel resident, a student of the Faculty of Mathematics and Programming Technologies of the Gomel State University, Maxim Gromyko (supervisor - Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Mikhail Dolinsky).

– My classmate threw off the link to the competition, I went over, studied the regulations and realized that since only regional universities take part, I have a fairly good chance of winning, - says Maxim. - After registration, I passed the selection, taking 4th place. However, having evaluated the results, I decided that I could win the final without any problems. The main thing is to make an effort!
